Our heart for Providence Kids is to reach and empower a generation to live out their God-given calling now, gathering in worship for the purpose of encountering God, laying a foundation of biblical truth in the hearts of kids, and fostering a passion for Jesus and His fame across the world.

At Providence, We Champion Young People. We equip and empower kids to fulfill their God-given calling now, not when they’re adults. We have kids serving on teams, praying over people, leading small groups, leading worship, and using their Spiritual gifts in other ways. We invest into the spiritual lives of young people and treat them as vital to the body of Christ.

We would love to meet your child and champion all that God has for his or her life. We offer kids ministry on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM, and our ministry is broken down into the following age groups: Nursery (Birth to 1 year old), 2 & 3 year olds, 4 & 5 year olds, and Kindergarten through 5th grade. We hope to see you soon!

"Providence Kids is a blessing to our family. The volunteers in the 2’s and 3’s classroom lovingly, and patiently helped our youngest son transition into the room, and he loves the crafts they complete every week. Our older kids learn something new every week in kids church and talk often about the songs they sing during worship” - Chad & Heather Shellenberger

"Providence has been the missing link I have searched for many years for my children. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for them in their bright futures. One of the greatest gifts children’s ministry has given me has been watching children decide for the first time they want to give their lives to Jesus. What greater and prouder moment as a parent is there than to have your child willingly ask Jesus into their heart, on their own terms?!” - Elizabeth Tatela

Erin Rasch is the team leader for the nursery. Erin and her husband, David, have 3 children, Oliver, Harlow, and Saylor. In addition to the kiddos, they have cats and a crazy puppy, and are animal lovers for sure! Erin’s heart for the nursery is that it be a place where Jesus is evident, where love is shown through actions, and where parents can worship whole-heartedly knowing that their child is cared for.

Elana Kipe is the team leader for the 2’s/3’s classroom. Elana and her husband, Nick, have two boys – Caleb, 5, Owen, 3, and a cockapoo named Skeeter! Elana grew up in Lancaster County, attended Messiah College, moved to Tennessee after getting married, then moved to Hanover at the end of 2010. She taught preschool for a few years before becoming a stay-at-home mom – she loved it! Elana has been serving in Kids Ministry at Providence for 4 years. One of the things she loves most about Providence is that we champion young people! Elana will always stand behind that. Her heart and prayer for the 2-3-year olds at Providence is that they would begin to experience the love of Jesus in amazing ways and learn to trust Him, even at their young age.

Jessie Henning is the leader for our 4’s/5’s classroom. Jessie and her husband, Derrick, have three boys – Isaac, Elijah, and Sean. Jessie and Derrick both teach in the area. They love seeing local students and their families as part of the church because Providence is a community, not just a place of worship. Jessie loves that she and her team can serve the children and their families each week!
